Discovery of God is easier when we know what is God, so that we are sure when we see God and do not mistake something else for God.
God is discovered by a handful, as the ancient documentation on the process is difficult to understand.
There is a fundamental difference between all other discoveries and discovery of God. Power of God is accessible by the discoverer alone. Real benefit of God for humanity gets bounded to post discovery life span of the discoverer.
God has, remained at best a phenomenon of super power, with minor fringe benefits for unguided explorers and peripheral benefits for the humanity.
Ancient documentation on the process of discovery of God, shall be understood only by a person who has discovered and experienced God, firsthand.
Anyone with access to modern documentation of the process, of discovery of God, can discover God easily.
There are important differences between all other discoveries and discovery of the God.
All other discoveries have directly benefited humanity with their powers.
Their processes are well documented and updated with ongoing developments.
They do not need rediscovery.
The power of God is accessible by the discoverer alone. Real benefit for humanity is, therefore, bounded to post discovery life span of the discoverer.

I was a rebel, at war with invisible God. The God was very generous, showed me the codes and keys in Bible and showered me with many gifts and the top reward. Top reward of the discovery of God is oneness. Oneness with God, oneness with knowledge, oneness with humanity.In the first document of “The Book of Discovery of God ”, we begin with ‘What is God‘ with 5 keys to unlock 14 Bible Codes.

- Moses saw that the bush was on fire but that it was not burning up.
- The Lord passed by and sent a furious wind that split the hills and shattered the rocks. But the Lord was not in the wind.
- The wind stopped blowing and then there was an earth quake, but the Lord was not in the earth quake.
- After the earth quake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.
- And after the fire there was the soft whisper of voice.

- Above the heads of the creatures there was something looked like a dome made of dazzling crystal.
- Above the dome there was something that looked like a throne made of sapphire and sitting on the throne was a figure that looked like a man.
- The figure seemed like shining like bronze in the middle of a fire.
- This was the dazzling light that glows the presence of Lord.

You speak of God as though He were an amazingly delicious recipe floating out there on the Internet for someone to find if only they are lucky enough, but when found, the recipe is written in a language known to only a few experts. This is not a new doctrine. It’s called Gnosticism. The notion that God makes himself accessible to only a few has been around for a long time, and can be found in any number of cultic manifestations in the US and around the world. See the new-ish film “The Master” for a tangible example through drama.
God is not a secret. The scriptures – including the Torah – are not a secret code. They speak plainly about how God is the Creator, Who binds everything today, is ever-present in all things, and Who loves His creation. There are multiple ways in which we can experience and “see” God: through the work of His hands in the Creation, through the Scriptures he provided us to help us learn Wisdom, through our fellow human beings who were created in His image and likeness, and most importantly through his Son, Jesus Christ, who, being God Himself, took on our flesh in order to redeem the us, along with the rest of Creation, corrupted by our own misdeeds and flagrant choices. He is the image of the living God, and when we see Jesus, we are looking at God. Therefore, the practice has been throughout the ages to depict God in images, in paints, colors, shapes, and forms. These images are called Holy Icons, and they are given to us through the Church that Christ established for his children. This Church is that which can unite all people (not only a lucky few) to God Himself, through the mysteries of the Sacraments. In the Church we see God, we hear His words, we ingest His body into our own, and we pray that by His grace, we are therefore made a little bit more like Him, brought a little closer to Him.

Of course we can draw the image of God.
God became incarnate in Jesus the Christ.
God the Father obviously cannot be depicted but the Son can be depicted because the Son was here on earth as a human being, the divine Son of the Theotokos; the Blessed Virgin Mother Mary, conceived of God; the Holy Spirit.
If someone would have had a camera back at the dawn of the first millennium – they could have taken a picture of God in the flesh; Jesus of Nazareth; King of Glory before He went to His death for our sake.
So of course those who had seen Him would draw Him, paint Him. write about Him, and even die for Him…

I am also impressed that within the first few paragraphs of the Torah including Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers, beginning with the first T, and every 50th letter after, the word Torah is there.
Not only that but within the first few paragraphs of the Torah including Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers, beginning with the first H and every 77th letter after, the word Hogwash is there.
You start with the question “Can we draw the image of God”. An interesting question but then you go on to describe a Code by which we can discover God. There have been innumerable such codes from various sources but it begs the question – Why would God who loves us and wants to be ‘One’ with us make discovery so difficult as to require us to decipher an arbitrary code (and decide which one to follow!), or, as you said, Discover Him first before we can understand the code, which then makes finding the code unnecessary. Do The purveyors of ‘Codes’ make themselves indispensable to discovering God?
I would suggest that finding Him is more straight forward and that to draw the image of God, we need only to see ourselves accurately (no small task that). What other image would we be made in?
I posted a comment the other day. It appeared for a few hours. I suggest if you are going to censor your post,then stop inviting people to join. I believe God is an unknown being to humanity, we can’t perceive (it) without balance in our inner and outer lives, only feel. And yet, even still, we don’t truly know what it could be. What I do know is that a life balance between the spiritual and physical realitites brings God (or the Cosmos in my dictionary) to us and until the mass of the population see/belive/know, we will never know completely. Even so, God or any other term given to describe it, acts through many of us. I am grateful for having seen the light and the doors opened to me.

Human creates himself…
I had a really hard time with the phrase “God is everything or God is nothing”. I doubted it, regected it, debated it, got mad about it. How can God be a tsunami or a chicken leg on my dinner plate? It makes no sense. I’m slow. Then, one day I did a 180. I came to accept that I can choose only for myself; what to think, what action to take in the next moment. If I serve me, I am everything. Alone on a planet with mega billions of other living creatures. How dry. One day I was sitting at the window, muttering about my problems and how to handle so and so. God said to me: “Jackie, do your work, leave the others to me, and where you can, lead the others to me.” Really! This happened to me. I cracked a huge smile. My job as the manager was over. Now every day I awaken to the perception that God is everything I DO, or not. So now I trust God, I serve God, very imperfectly, but that’s ok. I’m still very human. God is everything. I get it.

I believe that to perceive God, we need to start from a basic principle, which is the uniqueness of God Almighty. Any depiction by us, humans, would fall way short of resembling a distorted image of God, let alone God Himself.
That does not mean we can not communicate with our Creator. His Doors are always open. We do not need any mediation. We can pray, ask, repent anywhere and anytime, and in any language.

Deepak Chopra says “inside each one of us is a god in embryo it just wants to be born.”
I have always had the question inside me, who is god, what means god? When life choices brought really rough patches I would pray to the universe and ask that I am able to learn and grow through these experiences and in doing so I would be able to pass on the knowledge and help others. Well this is truly who “I am” and how my life evolves each and every day. So I do know that there is really no separation between god and me, we work together, we are one exploring this experience of discovery together! xox

I was raised Sola Scriptura, that only the Bible could speak about who God was. When my parents stopped practicing their faith and got caught up making $$$ etc, well I had to choose.
I chose Sola Scriptura. No pope. No priest. None to explain. When I drank in megatons into my memory I cannot help but hear it. My life was guided in the absence of teachers.

Cool: I do have learned to hear and know God absent of how someone else defined Him other than His Word and His attributes manifested in my own life and the lives of others I could observe.
There are many ways to define Him. I do know, God is not the man idol painted by man. In fact, even our Lord walked the Earth in His Earthly suit, as do we.
The Word says:
“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” 1 John 3:2
Wow; we don’t truly know what we look like; even we are dressed in earthly vessels.

Lovely blog. As far as knowing what God looks like, I agree that we were created in God’s image, so what is that? I have a personal idea about that, just seems common sense to me at any rate {smiles}. I think God looks like each one of us. We are ALL created in His image right? Well we do look like each other? No? Therefore He must look like each of us. Or at the very least He will appear to each of us as we each see Him in our hearts. Just as I believe, regardless of His Word, we will each hear it in our own language, even to the deaf, so none will be left out. Those who give themselves to God will have His love and protection in this life as well as the next. Have faith, stay strong, never surrender and always remember God’s Grace is with those who accept Him as their Lord and God.

Hindu Scriptures call it’dualism’- 330 million or so Gods are an assorted icons to choose one from – the one which is more compatible or almost a mirror to one’s persona. Division of human in the name of Gods and Religions is pointless and born of ignorance. All icons as symbols of faith, lead to God which is one and the same. The God is beyond all the icons of faith. But it has a specific shape, structure, color, feel .. .. This God is seen by several and described as light in all the Religious Texts. Old Testament contains several references to this God. @mzwings: We just don’t look like God but we belong to him. He stays with each one of us. The only problem we have got is we can’t see because of our “being human” way of living life.
God in hindu writings is mostly referenced as “nirguna” which means he doesn’t have any form. For common brains like most of us understanding him is no easy task. We can’t even follow the abstract discussion of God. Mostly all the saints across the world have identified this and simplified God for us.
God is not complicated. We are to come to him like little children–trusting Him completely. That’s not complicated at all. God used to walk with men on earth. He can take any form he wants. Knowing God as my savior makes me a saint; God is the one to worship, not saints.
Wings, I rarely run across believers who identify so strongly with the 100+ pounds of hamburger that we temporarily occupy. Take wing MZ, fly free from earthbound interpretations! You were created to fly so much higher than that …..

There is a lot contained in all these verses and indeed the whole Bible. May the Lord pour out upon us all a spirit of wisdom and of revelation, and grant us the desire, the hunger to seek after Him and to pursue Him in order to find Him.

Even the physicists who verified the existence of “the God Particle” cringe at that name. They know it isn’t even close.
I now so little about God, and I am unlucky that no one showed me God. May be this is why I wrote two blogs De-mystifying religion and worthiness of religion. Do not bash me for whatever I wrote, because some of my thoughts were influenced by Graham Phillips in his book on Moses.

I did not read the articles, but there is no mystery or code to finding and knowing God. In the KJV Bible we are told that we are made in God’s image (Gen. 1:27). That’s enough for me. I’ll see him when I get to heaven. Creating an image of him is, in essence, creating an idol. The very first commandment tells us not to make or worship idols because God is a jealous god. All throughout the Bible we are given a picture of God by description; he is loving, caring, always was & will be, a comfort, almighty, and more. The only way to get to heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. Once He is in your heart, you will feel God’s presence. Jesus and God are one (John 10:30). The Bible explains what to do after you have accepted Christ. First, baptism. (2) Pray and read your Bible daily. Jesus explains how to pray. Remember, this is your time to talk and listen to God. The Bible is your text book. (3) Find a good church home. You need the fellowship of other Christians and a good preacher to lead you & help you grow. (4) You also need to be a missionary–that is not necessarily traveling to parts unknown, but can be nothing more than sharing God’s love and salvation with your neighbor. Even singing in the choir is a form of witnessing. That covers the main essentials.
I’ve known God since I was a young girl. My life is not perfect. Satan often gets in the way. He does not like it when he no longer has control over your life. I would not want a life without God, He has helped in so many ways.
The burning bush was nothing more than a burning bush; it was a way for the angel to get Moses’ attention as he states in Exodus 3:3. Read the whole story, 3:1-4:17.
The denomination I attend is Baptist because their beliefs match what is taught in the Bible. I have visited a number of other churches over the years, some come close, but that wasn’t good enough. A lot of churches have “good” people in them, but they didn’t preach salvation. Without knowing Jesus as your Savior, you are on the road to hell. Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the light.’ It’s that simple.

DNA is as close to a ‘smoking gun’ as we are likely to find for hard evidence of God. The ‘hide & seek’ aspect is the price we pay for free will. He wanted sons, not slaves.
God does not play hide ‘n seek with us. The devil gets in our way to block our view of God. Find a good church home if you’re looking for answers; as I explained in an answer to milkerana, the Baptist church follows the Bible more closely than others I’ve visited. (Not all Baptist churches are good) Read a King James Bible. After you ask Jesus to come into your heart you’ll find the Bible easier to understand. God is there, always, waiting for you to ask Him into your heart. He cannot barge in uninvited.
I am a Christ follower. I don’t think GOd can be ‘seen’ per se as a person. It says that no one may see the face of God and live.In the Bible God gave some prophets like Ezekiel visions of Heaven, but I think he gave it to them in terms they could understand. Is that really what Heaven is like? We don’t know and that’s part of the mystery of this universe.

What you said is true to a point. You have to have Jesus in your heart in order to draw closer to God. We are all made with a niche that only God can fill. Many will wander aimlessly looking to everything from drugs to sex to fill that void. Only God can fill it.

I agree with you that some Hebrew words are difficult to translate into English. I do not agree with you that God is difficult to discover. He is not hard to find for those who seek Him. It is pretty amazing to me that when you compare the core meaning of translations against each other from generation to generation from the first writings 6,000 years ago to today, you’ll find little difference in meaning. That’s a God thing. He wants us to find Him…and we can. I agree few will follow Him because the way is not always an easy path, but that does not mean His path is hard to find. We just choose self instead of Him. Thanks for following Walk with Me. We will probably agree to disagree on several points. I hope my thoughts in my blog will persuade you of the wisdom of God’s plan and His constant purpose and drive to make himself known through the work of the triune Godhead – Father, Son, and Spirit.

For me personally, I listen to the voice of God through thought, feeling and visual. God teaches me how to BE at a peaceful place in mySelf, even when everything around me is very busy.
Reading the bible introduced me to Jesus the Christed, his life, and his becoming back unto God. I mourn for his soul for all he went through to show a lost people how to connect with the Spirit and release themselves from slavery.
Unfortunately, those same people he came to assist, condemned him and murdered him. It still touches a soft part of my own soul, as I very much view him as my father and my brother in essence.
I am at a peace though, knowing for myself that he works in the highest heavens, is an ascended master, and continues to make contact with desiring souls all over the earth every moment.
I love God. I don’t know that I can say God and/or Christ has a face, I only ever experienced the brightest light and the warmest warm and the most gentle of voices. Had I not opened my heart, mind, body and soul….I’d still be lost, riding the fence. I’m now saved and born again. In having washed mySelf clean, I dwell in God’s mercy and grace. I’m a child of God and so a defender of my father’s spirit.

I notice you have not mentioned Jesus, who is ‘the express image of His Person’ and is indeed God Himself. Jesus said He is the Way and no one can come to God except by Him . . . so any consideration of God is incomplete without mention of the creator Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, unto whom every knee will one day bow and every tongue one day confess that He IS Lord.
Interesting post. I find it a little curious that you keep mentioning “The God”. He has a name. It’s Jesus. Granted this is just the English translation of the name, but He is still God, died on the cross, risen from the grave, going to return. I mention His name, because, you know, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord.
isn’t calling God “Jesus” a bit simplistic? Do you not believe in the father, the son and the holy ghost. Jesus, the son, is God but God is not exclusively Jesus; calling him Jesus reduces the trinity to a monade. Calling him God (and father, son, holy Ghost depending on context) seems to be a better representation of the trinity… (provided you are a christian and believer in the trinity, which you appear to be).
Oxford, I would go one step further and say that there is no ‘Trinity’. It is never mentioned in the Bible but more importantly, it would make gibberish of many passages in the book if they were the same entity. And yes, I believe in all three.
Actually, they are a trinity–you have God; His son Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit which is sent to us as a Comforter. Jesus took the form of man to die for our sins.
